Hamilton Chiropractic Offices FAQ

Like other Berkeley chiropractors, we hear many questions from new and current chiropractic patients. Below are some of the most common questions and answers…

How long does chiropractic care take?

Berkely Chiropractors : FAQ

Berkeley chiropractors are often asked, “How long does chiropractic care take?”

As a Berkeley CA chiropractor I will always discuss our services and care options with you. How long your care lasts depends upon how you choose to use our services. If you only want relief care it takes days to weeks. This intensive phase of care is directed towards reducing or eliminating symptoms. After the relief care phase of treatment, if you choose to have rehabilitative care, it takes weeks to months. (Usually about three months) This phase of care is directed towards strengthening the weaknesses (ligament and muscle) that allowed your condition to continue in the first place, so that it does not return. After Rehab care you will be eligible for maintenance or wellness care if you choose it. How long you decide to use our services is always up to you.

Do you accept insurance?

At Hamilton Chiropractic Offices our policy depends on the type of insurance you have:

Private health insurance: You pay at the time of service. We will bill your private health insurance for you and you will be reimbursed for your expenses according to your policy. Private health insurance is a contract between you and your insurance company. There are dozens of insurance companies and hundreds of policies. Check with your insurance company for your coverage.

Worker’s Compensation: We take direct payment from the insurance carrier as 100% payment for your services after your treatment has been authorized.

Personal Injury: If you have “Medical Payments” coverage we will bill your insurance company, regardless of who was at fault and take payment directly from them. You are still responsible for any balance that your insurance company does not pay for. Medical payments coverage is no-fault coverage and billing them will not raise your rates if you are not at fault. If you do not have medical payments coverage you may either pay yourself at the time of service or, in some cases we will accept a lien from an attorney. We will attempt to refer you to a reputable attorney that has a track record with us if you do not have one.

Medicare and Medical: Reimbursement from Medicare and Medical is less than it costs us to deliver the service. Therefore we do not accept Medicare or Medical patients for Chiropractic care. In our laser pain therapy clinic we accept patients with any type of insurance but we do not bill Medicare or Medical because laser therapy is not a covered service. You must pay at the time of service. Medicare and Medical will not pay for this service.

How soon can I get an appointment?

We make every attempt to see patients who are in pain on the same day; those who are not in pain either the same day or within the next day or two. Our patient hours are Monday-Wednesday-Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

What are your education and qualifications?

I received my Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport Iowa. I am licensed to practice in the state of California by the State Board of Chiropractic Examiners. I attend regular state regulated continuing education. Please see my resume and professional biography listed on this site.

Are all chiropractors the same?

No, all Berkeley chiropractors are not the same. At Hamilton Chiropractic Offices I utilize the Pettibon System in my practice because I have studied many systems and it is my opinion that it is the most scientifically validated, effective and comprehensive approach to longer lasting spinal correction. What is Posture Correction?

The spine is the center of all motion in the human body. The spine’s position in gravity determines a person’s posture. By using a system of head and body weighting and postural muscle rehabilitation the posture can be corrected. This is critical if long-term spine correction is the goal. You can read more about Posture Correction at:

What is Laser Therapy?

Not all Berkeley chiropractors offer laser therapy. At our Berkeley chiropractic office we accept patients for laser therapy treatment without becoming a chiropractic patient if they wish.

How much does it cost?

The cost depends on how you choose to use our services. There is no charge for the consultation of the first visit at which time I will determine if I think I can help you and what is needed in your case. We have a fee for service. We offer dozens of services.
