Your First Visit to Our Berkeley Practice

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!
Getting To Know You

To help us get to know you will be asked to complete a questionnaire about your health history. The doctor will use this information to help formulate the recommendations for your health care plan.

Consultation With The Doctor

You’ll meet the doctor who will review your health history and determine if your condition can be helped by chiropractic. You will be advised of the cost of any procedures that may be required.

The Physical Examination

A series of standard physical, orthopedic, neurologic and chiropractic tests will be performed to determine the cause of your problem.

X-Ray Examination

These pictures may be necessary to visualize the precise location and severity of any spinal problems, and to reveal any pathology. X-ray information makes your chiropractic care more precise.

Study and Recommendations

Before proper care can be rendered, the doctor will study your examination findings. On your next visit you’ll see your own X-rays, review the doctor’s findings, and get his recommendations for a specific care plan.

Possible Adjunctive Procedures

The doctor may give first aid chiropractic treatment if you are in pain and may prescribe some home care procedures such as the application of ice, heat, exercise or the use of some other procedure to help reduce inflammation and make you more comfortable.

Dr. Mik Asks some important questions of interest to Berkeley residents - Chiropractor Berkeley Dr. Mik Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
What's the difference between maintenance, prevention and wellness?
Maintenance chiropractic care is an attempt to keep a dynamic, ever-changing and adapting organism (you) in a static relationship with your environment. Preventive chiropractic care is mostly about early detection. Wellness chiropractic care is an attempt to optimize our health and be all that you were designed to be.
